Genesee CSO Reduction

The Genesee CSO Reduction Project is split into two separate sites which are situated near Seward Park in Seattle, WA. At each site a large underground concrete storage tank is being constructed to hold a combined 600,000 gallons of combined sewer overflow during major rain events. These tanks will temporarily hold these overflows and prevent them from entering Lake Washington.

In order for the reservoir to be constructed CJA was hired to install 278 each 3 foot diameter secant piles with depths of up to 50 feet using the Soilmec 825 and sheet piling, and 148 tons of internal bracing. CJA’s scope of work also included installing 21 dewatering wells.

Work began in May of 2013, and will conclude with removal of the dewatering system in April of 2014.
