A licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, Spark Johnston’s distinguished four-decade career in the engineering and construction industry includes roles as a project engineer, estimator, project manager, and operations manager.
Spark has worked on a variety of temporary and permanent earth retention systems, drilled and grouted deep foundation systems, ground improvement and treatment systems, and landslide stabilization systems.
Spark has designed and managed several specialty geotechnical projects throughout the United States, including soldier pile and tie-back walls, high capacity anchored caisson walls, soil nailed walls, cantilevered soldier pile walls, high capacity tiedown anchors for dam stabilization, large diameter drilled shafts, grout stabilization, vibro flotation techniques for ground improvement and high capacity micropiles for bridge and building support.
Spark received a BSCE at San Jose State University.
