Condon-Johnson’s success is anchored by the innovation, expertise, and integrity of our people.
It all started in the 1980’s when Mike Condon and James Johnson transformed Kulchin and Associates, Inc. — a small shoring and foundation company responsible for completing the first soil nailing project in the Western Hemisphere — into Condon-Johnson & Associates (CJA).
With backgrounds in cost-effective, quality construction at Peter Kiewit and Sons, Mike and James joined Larry Kulchin of Kulchin and Associates, Inc., Mike as the General Manager and Vice President and James as the area manager of Kulchin’s newly opened office in Los Angeles. Mike eventually acquired control of the company, and with James as his business partner, rebranded the company as Condon-Johnson & Associates in 1996.
With a culture marked by the vigorous pursuit and development of innovative engineering technologies, Condon-Johnson quickly became a leader in the field of heavy civil geotechnical construction and engineering. The company’s continued success is the result of a demonstrated proficiency in the full range of specialty foundation services and ground improvement methods, coupled with the our commitment to treat people with fairness, honesty and integrity.
Sadly, Mike Condon passed away suddenly in 2002, but his vision lives on in the company with James as the President and Jeremy Condon as Vice President of Operations.
The success of Condon-Johnson – a family owned construction company – is underpinned by our core values of dependability, innovation and integrity.Over the last five decades, we have grown from a small shoring and foundation company to a leader in geotechnical construction on the West Coast. Our primary objective is to be the preferred geotechnical contractor and engineers that provide the most viable solutions for our clients’ projects.
We apply the same engineering, business, and safety principles to each project, regardless of scope and complexity. Our entire team seeks out and implements the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions to safely meet the project’s specifications.
Condon-Johnson is recognized in the industry as a dependable, innovative, and integrity-based contractor who is committed to the success of each project.
The safety of our team members, partners and work environment is our first priority.Since 1976, Condon-Johnson has established a long track record of safe operations at hundreds of job sites across the Western U.S.
The company’s robust safety program is based on the philosophy that “safety is more than a program, it’s a culture.”
We work in a zero incident culture, recognizing that all incidents are preventable with the proper training and implementation of safe work habits.
In order to meet our stringent safety standards, we set high expectations, plan our operations with safety in the forefront, anticipate and respond to workflow changes, empower all our people to be safety leaders, and recognize the hard work and safe performances of our team along the way.
Condon-Johnson holds the health of our team members and partners above all else, leading by example to promote safety in all work environments.
