As President of Condon-Johnson, James Johnson utilizes over 30 years of first-hand company experience to develop the vision, philosophy and strategy necessary to be one of North America’s largest privately-held foundation contractors and a leader in the geotechnical construction field.

James began his geotechnical career in the early 1980’s after graduating from the University of California at Davis with a BSCE degree as a field engineer for a large foundation contactor, driving precast piling and installing complex support of excavation projects in downtown San Francisco.

In 1985, James joined Mike Condon in assuming responsibility for the growth of Kulchin and Associates, Inc. James spent three years as the Area Manager for Los Angeles, and in 1990, he became Executive Vice President of what was then Kulchin-Condon & Associates, Inc.

Today, in addition to his overall management responsibilities, James continues to play a major role in developing the technical and innovative strategies for which Condon-Johnson is recognized. James is the developer and holder of multiple patents related to the field of geotechnical construction.

James is a member of the Condon-Johnson Board of Directors and is serving a third term on the Deep Foundation Institute’s Board of Directors. He has served two terms on the ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling’s West Coast Chapter Board and currently sits on the West Coast Chapter’s Industry Advancement Fund.

Jeremy Condon has spent over two-decades with Condon-Johnson working in all facets of field operations throughout the company’s four Districts.

After earning his Construction Management degree in 1996, Jeremy began his career with Condon-Johnson in the field gaining first-hand experience on a range of geotechnical projects. Jeremy was later promoted to Project Superintendent where he ran jobs and crews for many years.

Jeremy transitioned into the General Superintendent for the Northern California District, overseeing all of the field operations.

As Condon-Johnson’s Vice President of Operations, Jeremy is focused on company-wide field operations, including the equipment yard, equipment purchases and coordinating field personnel and specialized equipment with District General Superintendents and Project Managers.

Jeremy’s proactive management style includes the encouragement and support of team members to meet or exceed the rigorous standards associated with Condon-Johnson’s complex geotechnical construction projects.

Keith Bizzack has over 25 years experience in estimating and managing heavy civil construction and engineering projects. Keith joined Condon-Johnson’s Los Angeles District in 1995 before transferring to the company’s Oakland office in 1997 to work on the San Francisco International Airport expansion project.

Since that time, Keith has managed a wide range of projects, including bridge foundations work, large internally-braced excavations, slope stabilizations, and permanent and temporary earth retention projects.

Keith has managed multiple projects with many leading public and private entities, including City of San Francisco, EBMUD, Santa Clara VTA, Swinerton Builders, Pankow, McCarthy, Bechtel Infrastructure, and Webcor Builders.

Keith was promoted to District Manager for the Northern California office in 2007 and was elevated to Corporate Vice President in 2017. Keith has a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

George Burrough is recognized for his expertise in shoring, where he integrates his formal education, his project management experience and his dynamic problem solving skills.

George joined Condon-Johnson as District Manager when the company opened its San Diego office in 1999. George has extensive experience in design-build, deep foundation, earth support (both permanent and temporary) and slope stabilization projects.

George has estimated and managed major projects – seawalls, temporary earth retaining structures, demolition and excavation, permanent shotcrete retaining walls, and drilled foundations – for many public and private sector clients, including the United States Navy, CALTRANS and Bosa Developments.

A licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California, George has been both the Engineer of Record and Supervisor on the design of numerous earth retention projects.

Prior to joining Condon-Johnson, George worked for Wagner Construction Co., rising from Project Engineer to District Manager within four years. George received a BSCE in 1995 at San Diego State University.

Based in the company’s Seattle office, Dominic Parmantier specializes in assessment and implementation of ground improvement methods as well as conventional anchored earth retention and drilled shafts.

Dominic joined Condon-Johnson in 2003 as a Project Manager and has estimated and managed numerous assignments that involved geotechnical design for ground improvement, anchored earth retention, and permanent foundations.

Projects have included micro-piles, anchored earth retention, slurry walls, compaction grouting, cement grouting, chemical grouting, jet grouting, deep soil mixing, and vibro-replacement stone columns.

Dominic has extensive experience with several grouting techniques, anchored earth retentions, and micropiles in a variety of soil conditions while working on sites from Detroit to British Columbia and Honolulu.

Dominic was directly involved in the Reno Transportation Rail Access Corridor (RETRAC), Beacon Hill Tunnel, 505 1st Ave CSM Project, the Sound Transit U-220 Tunnel, and the Ground Based Missile Defense (GBD) at Fort Greeley, Alaska.

Prior to Condon-Johnson, Dominic worked for Hayward Baker and for Schnabel Foundation Company. Dominic has a BSCE from the University of Portland, Oregon, an MSCE from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg Virginia and is a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho.

Kristen Malik joined Condon-Johnson & Associates as Controller in 2017. Kristen began her career in finance on the East Coast with a hospitality company.

With a track record of dedication and performance, Kristen was promoted and transferred to the West Coast.

After 10 years in the hospitality industry, Kristen decided to explore opportunities to diversify her knowledge base which lead her to Condon-Johnson. Kristen has primary responsibility for business performance, cash flow management and accounting department supervision.

Kristen has a BS in Accounting from Hesser College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Katie Condon joined Condon-Johnson & Associates in 2014 as the Director of Human Resources.

In this role, Katie focuses on organizational development, labor and employee relations, talent acquisition, accounting and information systems, corporate communications, and vendor relationship management.

Prior to joining Condon-Johnson, Katie led employee development and sales operations for a FORTUNE® 500 financial services firm in San Diego.
Katie is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a BS degree in Finance.

Doug Watt joined Condon-Johnson in 2014 as a District Manager in our Seattle office where he oversees the company’s operations in the Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, Alaska, and Hawaii regions.

Doug has estimated and managed a wide range of geotechnical and heavy-civil projects, including bridge foundations work, landslide stabilizations, dam remediation and permanent and temporary earth retention projects.

His experience includes permeation grouting, dam foundation grouting, drilled shafts, augercast piles, secant piles, micro-piles, ground anchors and deep excavations.

Doug’s project work includes public as well as private entities: CALTRANS, WSDOT, ODOT, Sound Transit, Boeing, Microsoft, the Department of Defense and Bureau of Reclamation. He has had direct involvement in the Richmond San Rafael Bridge, Beacon Hill Tunnel, Alaska Way Viaduct Replacement (Big Bertha) and the Elliott Bay Seawall Replacement projects.

Prior to joining Condon-Johnson, Doug was a Project Manager and Vice President at Northwest Cascade. Doug is a graduate from Central Washington University with a BS in Construction Management.

With over 30 years of experience in Heavy-Civil-Building construction, Mike Almeida is recognized for his ability to build and lead large-scale project teams.

Mike’s extensive domestic and international experience includes construction work on dams, bridges, highways, building structures and refineries.

Mike joined Condon-Johnson in 2005 to lead the company’s rapidly expanding Stone Column Division. Mike worked directly with our Ground Improvement group, utilizing his dynamic management and technical skills to successfully complete a wide range of projects.

Mike earned a BSCE degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and was a key contributor while working for S.J. Groves, Perini Construction, and Conco Cement Company.

As the District Manager of the company’s San Diego office, John Compagnone utilizes his 25 years of field and management experience in ground improvement, earth retention, and drilled foundations projects to ensure the success of each project.

Since joining Condon-Johnson in 2004, John has estimated and managed several large, complex projects in both the public and private sectors.

His experience includes jet grouting, permeation grouting, dam foundation grouting, augercast piles, drilled displacement piles, secant piles, micro-piles, ground anchors, and drilled shafts.

Prior to joining Condon-Johnson, John worked as a Project Manager for TREVIICOS and for Rodio, Inc. on several projects throughout the United States. John has a BSCE degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

A licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, Spark Johnston’s distinguished four-decade career in the engineering and construction industry includes roles as a project engineer, estimator, project manager, and operations manager.

Spark has worked on a variety of temporary and permanent earth retention systems, drilled and grouted deep foundation systems, ground improvement and treatment systems, and landslide stabilization systems.

Spark has designed and managed several specialty geotechnical projects throughout the United States, including soldier pile and tie-back walls, high capacity anchored caisson walls, soil nailed walls, cantilevered soldier pile walls, high capacity tiedown anchors for dam stabilization, large diameter drilled shafts, grout stabilization, vibro flotation techniques for ground improvement and high capacity micropiles for bridge and building support.

Spark received a BSCE at San Jose State University.

David DePaco joined Condon-Johnson in 2018 as District Manager for the Los Angeles office and currently holds the same role in the Rocky Mountain region. Based out of Denver, Colorado, David is a Registered Civil Engineer in the states of Colorado and California.

For the majority of his career David has worked exclusively in the geotechnical design and construction field, managing the design and construction of large earth retention projects as well as the design and installation of drilled shaft foundations, auger-cast piles, drilled displacement piles, secant piles, micro-piles, and ground anchors.

David’s extensive experience in the foundation industry has allowed him to excel in finding the most technically feasible and economically viable solution on any given public or private project.

David has a BS in Civil Engineering from UCLA, an MS in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
